If repeated samples were taken and the 95% confidence interval was computed for each sample, 95% of the intervals would contain the population mean. A 95% confidence interval has a 0.95 probability of containing the population mean. 95% of the population distribution is contained in the confidence interval.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My server is full of Seagate drives. My backup setup is okay but could do with some improvement.

So seagate are OK then? What abo6t Toshiba? They keep coming up cheap cheap. I suppose reliability isn't too much of an issue for the Xbone drive - it's just for downloaded game data, can soon enough be redownloaded from teh xbox live.

No, certain models and generations of Seagates are supposed to be pants, hence needing to improve my backup setup.
HGST/Hitachi look to be better.
Saying that, I've had various hard drive makes die on me over the years.

I can get one I a usb3 enclosure for £65 from the same retailer!
