I decided I wanted to fit some speakers in the bathroom, but that meant I needed something to drive them.
Bought a fairly cheap TPA3116 based amplifier with Bluetooth and decided an RPi running Volumio was the best option. Whilst the Bluetooth sounds great I don't like how it functions and takes control of the amplifier. I also wanted to use other inputs on the amp which would mean buying a switch, but I wanted to be able to control the switch from the RPi.
After a bit of searching around I found out about theĀ 74HC4066N which is a controllable analogue switch IC and they're only 35p each!!
Turns out it works quite well and I've made a prototype of a 2 input switch
