Anyway it's all installed, looking pretty slick and running as well as a C2D can run anything, which isn't super fast on a good day. I'm disappointed they recycled the old IE icon for the (allegedly new) "Edge". C2Ds are alright, i'm sure some on here are still using them as their main PC. Maybe. At least in 64bit mode, anyway.

My desktop still has a Core 2 Quad in it. Not that it's been switched on in a long time, mind. Might try and upgrade it to windows 10 :C

Mine has apparently hung up at 82% of the install process. I'm not hugely surprised, the fucking computer seems to struggle to do things like shut down and restart without having to have the power button held in for five seconds at the moment. Hmm.

Mines still downloading, but tracy's is upgraded and the xbox one streaming is pretty cool.

Edit: and flaky as hell over WiFi.

Didn't like 8/8.1 (well, I didn't mind it once it was set to boot to desktop and classic start menu was installed). Only had 10 for about 10 minutes, and so far it seems pretty slick. I can get control panel, but not into PC Settings, the app store or anything related to that stuff (personalise desktop, windows update etc.) It's a bit annoying as I need to change some security settings in PC Settings in order to get my uni email to work. I've run SFC, which reports there's a bunch of corrupt files that it can't fix. Was going to do a windows reset thing, but that's in PC Settings. We have 6 PCs waiting for an update. 5 of them failed to update with Windows error 80240020 (which a lot of people are reporting on t'interweb). My daughter's Windows 8.1 laptop updated without any problems. I followed some suggestions to delete the update files from Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads and restart the update from an Admin started cmd prompt with wuauclt.exe/updatenow The Windows 7 PCs updated OK. The Windows 8.1 ones have failed so far. never trust a man in a blue trench coat, never drive a car when you're dead
