A couple of weeks ago I was messing around with the wireless router settings, and discovered a page called "Wireless Station Access List". This seems to be an an 'approved' list of devices that are always allowed to connect.
The /only/ entry in this page was the Sony phone mentioned in the first post - same name, same MAC. So obviously I deleted the entry.
Tonight I randomly wondered if there was anything showing up on the network (haven't checked since changing that setting). There's no Sony phone showing up. There's an Alcatel 5038X showing up instead.
You know kos, I had a similar issue come up when I had my laptop with me in a school. Windows indicated Alex's phone - but there was no Alex in the building.
It only lasted a few minutes then went away. Is it possible you are picking up someone's phone nearby?
Did you ever see such a messed up situation in your whole life, son?
Don't see how I'd be picking it up unless it was on the same network as me. (I'm at home, admittedly in a flat with people in all directions from me, but on my own network with a non-trivial wpa2 key)
If it wasn't for the first one showing up in my router config I'd happily believe it was just windows being odd. The weird thing is that all four devices have had different Mac addresses though. Very strange.
Yeah, if it was all one MAC address I'd just put it down to Windows being a dick.
Our phones have never shown up (Galaxy s4 and a Oneplus One). It's weird cos these things only show up for a second, if I refresh the page they disappear immediately.
