We should get you two to meet up and arm Ken with a sharp straw. He could then liposuck your excess flab, ingesting as much as he needs to bulk up.

The length of the straw will be determined by how comfortable you both are with this process, but Ken will need some serious sucking power if it's anything over a meter. Ken, you're good at sucking, right?! ;-)

I've used it. And my comment still stands. I think the search function is the weakest area in beehive. No offense because I couldn't do it better.

What's wrong with it?

Maybe I can do better, but only if you tell me.

I don't think it's so much the actual search function. I think it's more of how the results are displayed. And also the having to wait until you can search again. That could very well be a MySQL issue or an issue of abuse I dunno.

I am in no way complaining man, you do a fantastic job!

I know you're not complaining! :)

Having to wait is an issue of abuse. It can be turned off in Admin > Global Forum Settings. It's there because MySQL Full-Text search can be (depending on server setup, YMMV, etc.) resource hungry and block other activity (reads and writes) on the database while running.

The layout of the search results I can change. What would you like to see about them change, is it just that they're not very informative or missing something or should be displayed entirely different?

Is it possible to remove or lower the length of time you have to wait if there's no results?

that's the one I'd like too - if I search and it finds nothing then I want to go again

Search that has no results still consumes resources, so probably not.

IMO, the problem with the search is that it gives the results in the left-hand frame. This might make perfect sense in a fully-framed window. But if I want to search but keep my current position, I cannot just open a page link in a new tab/window, because if I search the results aren't displayed. :(

Wow, you're mean and nasty, and here I am agreeing with you.  I don't like that they are in the left frame.  It seems cramped.

Matt, more info might be useful, or somehow combining results from the same thread?  If I search for something and it's in the same thread multiple times it might take up the whole first page of results.

There is already a group by thread option on the search form for that :)

You can drag the left frame to make it wider too, like. Beehive will even remember where you drag it to as well.

Oh OK, so it's just that I don't know how to properly use it.  Story of my life, and once again ignore the stupid American.  I should put that in my signature. :-/
