Spelling mistake in their email? It would have to be an, as it were, logical spelling error to explain why more than one client did it, but I have lost scores of mails over the years to manthorpe.co.uk and conversely, have received many enquiries regarding engineering products intended for them.

You should have an agreement to setup some sort of forwarding system between you both!

I get so much stuff for other people to my gmail account. Serves me right for getting in there early.

I wish. They can receive from me so when I tell them to reply all I get the gmail but not the one for here. It's all very odd.

Depends, really. The other companies would have to check their DNS providers, probably using nslookup or something. Firewalls: depends what you have and whether logging is switched on. Spam blacklists would probably give them more sending problems than just to your company, but it's possible. Messagelabs have fairly good logs, if either side is using them.

Basically, if it's not in your Exchange or firewall logs (or anything else between Exchange and the internet), I'd expect it to be somewhere outside your network.

This.

Might be worth checking you're not being used as a relay - that happened at work a long long time ago and we got flagged up on some real time blocklists that fecked over incoming mail from domains that use them.

I've checked and our servers aren't on the blacklists. And I don't allow relaying. I have no idea how to figure out the problem.

Do a manual telnet from within their network to your SMTP server, and try to send a basic email that way. Is that doable?
