To back up manually I have to stop the server as several thousand of the 70k files are open.

Presumably more important with the new file format (a world in only a 10 files! :D)

OK, server is offline for a few. I am copying the entire server directory, settings and all, and going to try running the bukkit mod to see what's what. That'll be with 1.3 on.

Apparently Minecart Mania works with bukkit already, and i'm not sure yet but I /think/ there is some kind of backup shit built in.

I dunno, probably. When i tried doing it manually prior to the backup plugin it always failed with a shitload of errors.

I think the server is more or less constantly saving shit as soon as it's changed, so that might be why :|

Where abouts is it?

I've done a map before changing the server over (MC Map won't work with the new save format I suspect, so might be the last one for a while).

I only use MC MAp because it's supposed to be compatable with the back up plugin (ie doing scheduled maps), but it never bloody worked :(
