haha :D

And yeah, I know it'll be a lot of wiring but man, it'd be so cool to have a working "train". The noise is fabulous :$

That didn't strike me as terrible! But it's like having a strobe light in the elevator with you!

Man I've been messing with pistons all weekend, what a pain in the ass! The wiring and stuff needed requires you to really think about space before using them!

I wanted to get on last night and at least get some goo, but...

I had to make a video, hang a storm door, cook supper, bake a cake, and run my daughter to town.

Hopefully tonight I can get some time!

Sorry.

Dear Eschalon, please ignore the above. Jon is not a terrorist, he is a freedom fighter.

What you mean is that you haven't been on at the same time as anyone else for a while? :P

I've had several fairly long sessions over the past few days.

Something I've noticed with chunks generated since beta 1.7 update is that there seems to be a lot more vertical shafts (compared to surface tunnels), and deposits of iron ore seem to be larger (though I've not done any objective comparisons).

Oh, and for the benefit of people not paying attention to it, there's an update on what will be coming with the beta 1.8 update:
quote:
NPC villages
Randomly generated dungeons
New biome code
Fully working Creative Mode (and individual admins can enter Creative Mode on a Survival Mode server if they choose)
Critical hits
Sprinting
More farming options

I'm not entirely sure how "Randomly generated dungeons" differ from how they are now, unless he means they'll stop being cuboids.

Would be nice if biome edges are more feathered/non-linear, though no indication if that's what is actually changing.

I'd be wary of attributing weird toplogocal/geological stuff to updates. It seems to be very world and region based. I've had whole worlds where coal was very scarce and regions where iron was ridiculously abundant and stuff. The randomness of these things seems to be quite... clumpy. Which is good, cos genuine randomness is too, and it leads to interesting worlds.

I didn't actually attribute anything to the update, I simply pointed out that the chunks where it is occurring happen to be ones which were generated after the update was applied. :P
