I see Jens has checked in a bunch of fixes for 1.7.2. As soon as he gets back from lunch, I will discuss with him, then I suspect a very imminent update.
I have been trying to build a canal, water only flows for 8 blocks (unless it drops*) - any way I can think of for adding more after 8 blocks just has it flowing both ways and messing up the plan
*I cannot just allow it to drop as I need it to run for 800+ blocks and that would mean 100 drops, nearly the whole height of the world (120ish from bedrock to sky)
