I'm currently working with supercool dutch artfag Jaap de Jonge on a digital artwork for supercool British Mind the Gap theatre's new headquarters in Urban Splash's supercool development of Lister Mills in Bradford.

The piece will be two or possibly three installations of high spec webcams pointing at marked out 'frames', one on a wall, one on the floor. Members of the cast and visitors will be able to make 'comic strips' of still photos by posing within the frames while one of them - the 'director' captures still images using a simple bespoke UI and streamed video feed on a wireless tablet. When a strip is completed it's uploaded to an information server as a folder. The folders will be played randomly on LCD information screens across the building.

I have a programmer committed to doing the project, but I've made several attempts to contact him since Christmas and he's not got back to me. Just supposing he's cooled off about doing the work, would anybody in teh Possie be interested in the job? It's worth £4.5k, but that has to be utterly utterly inclusive for the job done, up and working.

My programmer may email me tomorrow and this post will come to nothing, I'm afraid; but it would be good to know whether anybody was up for it if he's not playing. I can send lots more detail, including proposed kit, to anybody who thinks it might be fun.

Well all that sounds awesome fun anyway, when's that likely to be opening?

Which of the following would you most prefer?
A: a puppy,
B: a pretty flower from your sweety, or
C: a large properly formatted data file?

Ricard00 pipped you this time, but if he turns out to be crap I'll send you the stuff. I told Rich I'd wait until this weekend to give the original programmer a last chance to get in touch.

Digicam vs. Webcam was an interesting thought. Would it be hardy enough?

They would be sturdy enough in my opinion, if they can be mounted and controlled via an app, that would be even better.

I'm sure this has been done before too, you'd get the quality that you couldn;t without a high end webcam thus keeping the cost down.

Did I text you about this, I forget!

No, you just thought it, but our bond of intimacy links us at a psychic level.

If he gives the job to you I think you should donate 10% of your fee to Teh Forum as an administrative fee ;)

The noises commonly associated with flatulence are caused by the vibration of the anal sphincter, and not by the buttocks. The sound varies depending on the tightness of the sphincter muscle and velocity of the gas being propelled, as well as other factors such as water and body fat. The auditory pitch (sound) of the flatulence outburst can also be affected by the anal embouchure.
