Naah, that's just a typical Rendle response...

Still, a bit of an odd usage, though. Opposed is far more usual. (Google agrees: opposed [49.4 million] vs apposed [0.29 million]).

I didn't say it was invalid, I said it was odd.

Alas, the full phrase "as sex to" has only 13000 hits.

But, yes, it is more usual to sex than to appose.

Is appose an american-ism maybe?

Oxford, my usual source of everything words has apposition, but not appose.

However my 1980 edition of Funk & Wagnalls agrees with me. And also Xen. So, it should be declared correct. Yes, it should.

I won them all, but I thought it'd be rude to mention it. Plus I awarded myself an extra mince pie for running the second-worst awards ceremony ever.

(The worst is still the Sam Fox & Mick Fleetwood 1989 Brits)

One Night At McCool's

There's one thing I don't understand: Why would Randy and Jewel, for some reason, have sex right at the beginning of the movie?

-- Um, like, are you kidding? Randy sees the golden opportunity (like finding plutonium by accident) and takes it.

We should probably be getting on with these, Kenny.
