I'd love to go travelling round Europe (and a few other places), but before I even contemplate that I need to have eradicated 12k of debt, which means getting a well-paid job first.
Fortunately, thanks to the rarity of Coldfusion coders, a year from now I could potentially be getting as high as £30k, so it shouldn't take too long to get myself stable.

The demand is there it's just not as big as other areas. That, combined with Macromedia being idiots, means not many people have even heard of CF.
The IT jobsite I've been monitoring has 30 Coldfusion jobs advertised in the past week, and 158 PHP jobs for the same period of time.
On this forum there is 1 Coldfusion coder, and (I'm guessing) at least 20 PHP coders.
So the ratio of jobs:candidates is actually higher for CF.
