First day back at work and I'm glad. I feel like I need a holiday from the holidays. Christmas and New Year were brilliant, but very tiring.

At work, I get to sit down, get on with stuff I want to do and I don't have to wipe anyone's bottom after they've been for a poo.  :-D

How was your Christmas?

Scotland in general doesn't go back to work until tomorrow though*, and for me it's not till next Tuesday :D

*The only(?) country in the world that requires 2 days to recover from NYE. So proud :'D

Hoorah!

Is your extra long return to work period due to (planned) recovery time also?

 :-D

At first glance that makes it look like the UK does have a holiday today, so I was about to go shouting at our HR people, however, further clicking on the UK's entry yields this page:

linky

'United Kingdom (regional)'  :'-D

I'm still waiting for the end of the Christmas holidays.

Roll on Tuesday.

Only Tuesday will be shit because we'll have no roof (moved house a month ago and it leaks like a sieve).

Also waiting for Tuesday to go back to work and return my kids to their rightful childcare and educational providers.

Is your roof being raised?
