For the removal of doubt, I'm 60.
I'm not sure how it happened. One moment I was lying in a cot shitting in my nappy and the next I was an old man. Of course, many people say that paying for that sort of thing when you're 59 is perverse, but I say 'It's my life and my money'.
I'm 58. A spring chicken by comparison.
/OLD/!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And watching the news this morning I feel about 80.
When I see Farage on the television flanked by stony-faced white triumphalists, like a row of extras from Peaky Blinders, I can't help reflecting on the fact that Hitler rose to power through the democratic process.
I know. The mode of Farridge's rise is strikingly similar, on the back of a politically alienated working class that used to vote Labour.
Apparently regions that voted leave were hardest hit by Cameron's austerity budget cuts.
Yep, they also generally gained lots of EU funding which they'll now lose and not likely have much from the government to replace it. Turkeys voting for christmas and all that.
Those areas are also traditional Labour heartlands in which many of the alienated white working class have started voting UKIP.
