Oh yes, forgot to finish the story. Turned the power off as soon as I noticed that. I called out WPD because it was an emergency in the meter box and he said the switch wasn't their responsibility but he changed it anyway which was nice of him.
Back working now but I think the water has broken our digital meter too. Have to sort out the leak now
