I volunteered to look into replacing the one my camera club uses, and want to make sure I don't get trash.
At the moment we have a clip-on thing which isn't great - it's a bit eager to give feedback and can rustle on clothes, so a headset has been suggested.
Paying almost £300 for a Audio Technica BP892cLM3-TH MicroSet Subminiature Omnidirectional Condenser Headworn Microphone seems excessive when you can get a complete system for £35, but then that could be exactly the low quality rubbish I want to avoid - I have no idea whether "Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.5 (1KHz)" is good, bad, or meaningless.
So yeah, I know there are various soundy-type-people here - if anyone has a moment to provide any info on what to get/avoid/etc that'd be great. Thanks. :)
We have people give talks/presentations and judging/critiquing photos, etc - it helps the speaker talk normally without needing to always face audience and raise their voice for two hours.
Most of the meetings are in a room that fits 30-40 people, probably under 10m long (I'm not great doing sizes from memory), sometimes there are larger events in the main hall which fits 100-150 people.
