Interestingly, I was reinstalling Mediahint again not more than two days ago. I saw all the subscription stuff but it still actually seemed to work when I installed the plugin, dunno if there's some kind of free use period or what.

I would also be interested in an alternative though, if anyone knows of one.

http://proxmate.dave.cx/ seems the best choice, for anyone else interested.

http://hola.org/ is another one, but someone on reddit said it does something nasty to your pc, now some people believe them.

Dora The Explorer is really fucking good. Every time I remember it exists and come back to it I remember just how how great it is.
