Urgentish: buggering about with an exe

I've got a screensaver exe file and I want to change some aspects of its behaviour.

I can open it up with 7zip and see the control file, but when I make changes to the file, or try to copy over an amended version to the CONTROLFILE folder, it doesn't save them.

Can any clever sausage recommend an application or tell me how I can change the file to amend the behaviours I want tweaked?

Maybe give ResEdit a try?

Not certain if it'll do what you want, but since its purpose is buggering about with executables, it might do better than 7zip.
