Teh Xmas Meat: Venue TBD

Date : TBA
Venue : Nottingham

Suggestion from those that were at teh Northern Meat in Leeds.

Rather than have a north south devide try and all meat up for a global uk gathering!

I understand that Notts will be a challenge from a Scottish perspective but more than welcome to have. Scots meat at the same time and we will link?

Most likely to be as soon as the Nottingham German xmas market starts ( seems to be some German sausage lovers in teh!) guessing around mid November .

Hoping given enough time. To make this Teh forum event to come to!

Who's coming?

I can't speak for the whole of the southerners, but certainly for me Leeds vs Nottingham is much of a muchness.

So if it makes it harder for Scottishes then I dunno if it's beneficial with regards for a whole UK meat.

However, I would still at some point like to do a big Teh Camp Meat, maybe around the peak district or whatever, where it is (at least) a whole weekend, instead of this crawling along at 4pm and slinking off at 6pm nonsense!

I'd be well up for that, but I just don't think we'd get the buy in :(

Nottingham? Why the fuck would anyone want to go to Nottingham?

There were many good reason that we came up with after the 4 or maybe fifth pint of lager...

apart from the sweaties it was sortof halfwayish between the Southern Fairies and the Northern Monkeys.

Don't really mind where it is but would be great to have a combined meat for all.

Not sure if we have ever done that.

Love the thought of a Forum Camping Meat but with the nipper that might have to wait a few years :)

York or London - transport hubs that everyone* can get to easily.

Nottingham - arse end of the East Midlands.

*everyone that matters

Yeah but ya see you wouldn't come regardless of where we held it :)
Kenny would make the effort if there was consensus.

We were thinking of somewhere equally as impossible for everybody* to get to.

*everybody that's important that is.

As long as you set a date, and agree to stick to it, before the cheap train tickets sell out then I'll be there*.

*except maybe not this xmas one, due to baby being due around then...

Christmas meats are problematic enough for me these days, what with a spate of birthdays and the fact that my office puts on a hella good Christmas party (or sometimes even more than one).

But even then - not sure I'd want to traipse to Nottingham - London's easier!

The plan was to arrange for the first day of a German Xmas market. They normally start say October :)

Forget Nottingham we choose a venue.

If it's German Christmas markets you're after, the one in Mannheim is pretty decent.

You'd fly all the way from Canada for a drink? Wow, that's commitment desperate commitment! :O

Ah, well that means the cheap seats on the trains will be gone already.

You know, I hear Edinburgh has a nice German market....

I'm up for a meat as long as the travel costs are not massive. I have not been to many northern places but I would rather like a trip to York at some point.

Camping sounds awesome as well, but as you said, gotta wait a few years till the nipper is a but older.
