Old auntie Beatie, bless her, has fluffed up her cardie with righteous indignation. BT is going to do what Apple, Microsoft, and countless others have failed to do: slay the damned Google dragon. Oh yes, lawyers are involved, but after auntie's finished, so will Google be.

Read it and weep, Mouse!

Correct. In his ire, Mr Mousington has laid himself open for righteous bumming by whoever it is that collects the license fee.

The phonebooks were delivered to the flats I live in three weeks ago, they are still in a pile by the front door. Friends say the same thing. It seems like a colossal waste of paper but I imagine it's less a case of providing a useful service and more for selling adverts. If I want to look up a company, I don't use BT's website or Yell.com, I use Google :C

Try telling that to a BT or Yell rep who /still/ keep putting up the price of the book ads year on year. And the Yell site is now awful, they're got this thing going on where they randomly show companies from the wide surrounding area instead of showing who is nearest to where the user asks to search near. They can go die a shitty death as far as I'm concerned and I can save a few grand a year by people finding us on Google.

I was setting up a new card machine in a friend's shop recently when the man from the BT phonebook was there, he made me cross and I think I talked her out of it once he left :Y

I think a small presence is worth having but you've got to remember it's only going to be over 50s seeing it.

She's still going to have an ad in there, just not a giant expensive one, which I think is sensible. I would not put Rowdydow in there (giggle)
