Abbreviations of Game/TV/Movie Titles

I don't know about anyone else, but abbreviations of titles really gets on my wick, especially when I haven't a clue what it stands for.

It just bugs me when I see "I've just been playing KotFK:FTmfW and it's reet good!". Great... want to enlighten us as to what it's actually called, so that we can, you know, look it up and see if it's worth playing.

I've just seen another thread with one in and I didn't have a clue what it was, hence my post.

You're just not down with the kids anymore. It happens to everyone. You're getting old. Just imagine how it feels for Truffy or Manthorp.

No, fuck off. Learn to type the whole name in, lazy bastards. At least in the first post about it, anyway.

I just had to look up something in Boff's post, "EitS". It was only then I realised I'd never heard of Explosions in the Sky, and I doubt a lot of other people have either. Abbrieviating things everyone probably knows is one thing, but I'd just end up on Google more than I would on here with everything.

:D

I did wonder what EitS was myself, but didn't actually care enough to look it up.

I do actually agree with you, despite my first reply :$

So if I'd written Explosions in the Sky, you... still wouldn't have known what it was?

Yeah but if I was bothered enough to know, I would have looked them up. As it was, I had to look it up just so the conversation made sense and so that I could answer the question in my head "do I know what that is?".

It's like a quiz post, where I sit at it for 5 minutes trying to deceipher the abbreviations.

I'm not bothered that people use abbreviations for titles but I am bothered that my brain forgets what they are. KotOR, for example, every time I see that I have to Google to see what it is, even this time :(

You'll be lucky. It was banned in 1966 :(
