That's cool :D

I love the tri-cornered hat. They are so awesome. I want one.

Happy 4th (hug)

I love the energy he has for his country. He has made it a yearly thing he does. I just go for the food and beer really :)

Happy 4th to you as well, although I don't think it has any meaning for you does it?

I'm finally home again, and settling in, are you building tonight? I need to find something to occupy me or fuck with pistons or something. Or kill zombies or TF2. Hmm, pretty much anything!

I'm up for something from that list, aye.

And yeah, 4th goes unnoticed here. Unsurprisingly really, since we lost :D

I have had that conversation before ~

USian: OMG! you /don't/ celebrate the 4th of July??? like WTF?? that is a really major event here - why wouldn't you have that too???

ME: uh... we lost...

USian: oh yeah! we totally whooped your asses

ME: I genuinly don't know anyone who cares, or indeed anyone who could tell you when it happened

USian: OMG! it was 17(can't be arsed to google)

ME: I guess so, but truely I don't know of anyone who either knows or cares

Actually, we celebrate 4 July on the basis that all the merkans at work are off, so it's quiet. Bliss.

Hah, aye.

Although I do know an improbable amount (for a brit) about the revolutionary war. (it was 1776, after the battles of Lexington and Concord and Bunker Hill (all technically losses for the Americans but the latter very much a Pyrrhic victory for the British) when the Second Continental Congress in Ken's very own Philadelphia declared independence) :Y

I only know what I have learned through listening to Revolting People, a charming radio sit-com set in revolutionary Baltimore.

Oddly enough, for a six-star general, George Washington appears to have been...fallible.

I knew you didn't celebrate it for the same reasons we did. :-P

I just wondered if you had turned it into a (we lost but in the end it was ok) kind of holiday.
