Canada - What happened to you?

I turned the Stanley Cup Finals on just in time to hear the rude Vancouver fans booing the cup presentation and throwing stuff on the ice. I was appalled. Then I wake up and see this. (fail)

At least if anyone was injured they can get fixed up for fee.

The issue is sports fans, not Canadians. I've seen American fans of one team boo the other team if they won and throw stuff. Has nothing to do with nationality, it's just sports tribalism.

As for the rioting, that probably would have happened even if Vancouver had won. There are always opportunists looking for any excuse to wreak havoc.

Exactly. Most soccer holiganism is related to a minority of socially maladjusted halfwits. Fortunately, they're largely known to the police and are banned from travelling to the internationals.

Yeah, imagine what they would have done if they had won. (fail)

At least that's something Toronto won't have to worry about any time soon...

We'll have plenty to riot over without it being something as senseless as hockey...

A picture showing the similarities between the Egyptian, Algerian and Libyan protests compared to the riots in Vancouver.

It's not showing up here, but that may be our IT Nazis blocking hotlinks to a file-sharing site. They're a bit miserable like that.

To be fair, they were shite at home in the biggest match for 17 years. I wouldn't be happy either (though I wouldn't riot).

That was funny, but it looks like it soon turned ugly. I can't decide if it's a gang rape about to happen or what!?

I think it's just a common "police indiscriminately shoving people roughly to the ground then people trying to help" type situation. I guess that's the trouble with riots, there tends to be non-rioters around as well.

Bit like what happened here maybe. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/may/24/tomlinson-police-officer-manslaughter-trial
