I think it's pretty difficult to be both smart and right-leaning. Unless you're super-wealthy (and very selfish with it (which you probably are if you got wealthy)).

Yeah, my results tend to vary with my mood. And how I choose to interpret certain questions. There's definitely a left-bias to the test though.

I found the lack of a "meh" option drove to expressing an opinion when sometimes I didn't have one.

Yup, there were some that my opinion didn't fit to any answer. But I was still pretty shocked at how far left my results are. And like Drew says, there has to be a left bias in the test, because last time I checked I'm a pretty conservative leaning person.

Heck, I work for a multinational and even I don't think that they shouldn't be controlled. In fact, I suspect that some of the most ardent anti-multinationals work in them...we see them for what they really are.

I think most people are more leftist than they think, generally. The right does a better job of picking the emotive issues and presenting them in the right way, which makes people think they're more right than they really are.

Having said that, most people think about these things self-interestedly so they end up being an incomprehensible mess of left and right positions which could never form any sort of cohesive whole.

This is why I can't figure out how we ended up with only two parties? How the fuck do two parties represent everyone? And when a third party is talked about people are all leery about it. You either have to be left right or none of the above, which is complete bullshit. We are all a mix of left and right! Just different mixes!

Also, most people aren't well informed enough to make a rational choice on most issues anyway, so it just becomes a marketing battle. Which the right are much better at.

Well yeah, we don't need to get to a point where we have too many parties, but certainly there is room for more than two main parties. Don't you think?

It used to work, but you're right, it's starting to fail. We are now at the point where the representatives we elect forget who they work for the day they take office.
