Ah, well, you see that's interesting.

Vince Cable, along with Clegg, Huhne, etc. are very different LibDems from what that rather naive man on the Clapham Omnibus might imagine.

Nestling in that collective bosom are views that some might regard as more libertarian than liberal. They are certainly all far to the right of the bulk of the party and staunch economic liberals to a man.

All of them, Orange Book liberals.
