Is that a thing in Canada too - no film or photography in court? In the UK even sketching is illegal, although it is generally allowed (at the judge's discretion) if the subjects are publicly known and it is done from the public gallery.

Edit: Sketching witnesses is liable to end in tears for the artist.

Sketching is allowed at judge's discretion, no filming/photography. Not sure if that's true in all Canadian jurisdictions.
