Parasite (2019)

I've been getting around to this for ages, finally managed it last night. Had a fine time, it's lots of fun. I would say try to see it without finding out much/anything or getting too hyped, if you can.

As something of a lapsed aficionado of 'this sort of film' I perhaps wasn't as startled by it as some seem to be, but it's still very good indeed.

Well, *I* also finally got around to it. Five years later. It's very good innit!

I don't think it's quite as good as it's made out to be, but it is very good.

I mostly enjoyed it as a character piece - I thought the family were all really well drawn just through their interactions and little incidental details. Their dynamic was sweet and believable.

When the crazy stuff starts happening, I dunno, it was fun enough but I think I would've preferred a quieter, more grounded film just about what it was about before the crazy stuff kicks off.

((favourite bit: When they're hiding under the table and dad's face when they're talking about, basically, not liking the smell of poor people))
