Recovering from first week of real work in years. Also, no bank holiday off for me :((

Working Friday. Going to be a day of doing very little, and I'll keep the days holiday so I can't complain.

Depends on the weather. Perhaps a day trip to beautiful downtown Brampton.

Yay. Long weekend. Then I'm off all next week too.

Gonna be up at my sister's in Stoke this weekend, days out with the kids. Probably Gulliver's World in Warrington and other stuff.

Goin' up to the folks in North Wales. Grandparent fun for the nipper, hopefully manage to grab a rare window of us-time for me and Tina (like, a lunch out alone or something).

I hadn't even thought about it being a long weekend until I saw your post.

Daughter's birthday on Friday so I'll have to stump up for six meals at the Thai place round the corner and then drive my son back to Hastings on Saturday morning. Other than that, no plans.

And to reiterate the theme of how long teh forum has been around, and who is still logging on, the son I'm driving back to Hastings on Saturday joined this place about 14 years ago now and did some semi-deliberate trolling at the grand old age of 12.

And embarrassed me a bit.

He will be enjoying a long weekend with some time away from the insurance company he works for. In Hastings.

What route are you driving? Taking a detour?

My lazy grammar. He is spending time in Worthing before I drive him back to Hastings, where he works (for an insurance company).

One of the first times I've been able to enjoy the bank holiday weekend for some time. A lot of companies in Aberdeen don't respect the Easter holiday, hence even though the company I directly work for does respect it, the company I'm sub-contracted to didn't (in Scotland at least) - hence me working Friday and Monday, but at least being paid triple-time for it.

This year, I've been promoted and am now no longer site-based. And as my company is based in England and does do Easter, hence I'm currently putting my feet up and procrastinating a bit - seeing as I've got a shitload of paperwork to sort out for moving house next month...

My office does an extra public holiday elsewhere in the year, and only get one day off at Easter. It's supposed to be Good Friday, but I'm working today taking Monday off instead. The advantage of this is that the office is pretty quiet - there's only five of us in. To celebrate, I'm planning to make mojitos at Mojito O'clock for those who want them. We normally do Beer O'Clock on a Friday afternoon, but making mojitos seemed like a far more sensible course of action.

I could do with a Mojito.

I now work in the food manufacturing and we don't officially get bank holidays off. We don't have to take them and can use the holidays elsewhere, which is useful. I would have liked today off but since the factory is producing it was insisted I was in and I'm doing very little since all my suppliers are off today so it's not like I can fix any issues anyway. They nearly forced the factory to produce on Monday meaning the shop floor staff would have only had Sunday off.... There was rumour of a strike so they quickly rearranged the plan.

So you're going to Hastings direct, then?
