They didn't shoot him. They broke his neck. Admittedly, I'm not sure how they did it; but if they used a gun then I agree they should wait until the US military (that bedrock of not over-reacting) trains them to do it properly.

Perzactly. Let's face it, just like in any area: There are good cops and bad cops. Good bankers, bad bankers, good lawyers and bad lawyers. Training would probably weed out the yahoos right off.
Is there any reason to believe that the military are any better than the police in this regard?
And therein lies the rub. Anger management. Seems less like a training problem than a personality problem.
