Much better.

New thumbses aren't up though, did you dislike them?

I just gave you a green thumb.  I still see them.

Thumbs don't work properly for me - think it's a caching issue. I've cleared cache etc., but after I click up/down vote it sometimes resets to nothing, or just sticks on what i've clicked (further/change of clicks/other people clicking doesn't show up)

Hmm, they work fine for me (504s aside). Maybe your votes are being discounted because you are wrong?

Ken: I did newer ones.

I was in bed watching TV and couldn't be arsed.

I was thinking maybe part of the problem is there isn't a tool-tip when you hover over them to explain what they do.

Also, maybe do some kind of on-hover icon change, so they go from a outline to the greyed state maybe?

(This really needs some CSS sprites to save loading all these images.)

It is a cache issue, but it's the whole page not just the thumbs. It's on my to do list.

I think the problem previous was that they were basically invisible so you couldn't tell which was which. The problem now is just that they look shit.

Hopefully the flat grey ones will be non-shit looking and usable.

I don't think it needs a tooltip or owt, it's pretty obvious what thumbs up/down does. So long as they are recognisably thumbs up/downses.

But yeah if the newer ones look shit then rollovers is probably the way to go. Be nice to overhaul all the icons with flat versions. The cartoony semi-3d ones are looking a bit dated now. Might do that if/when I'm bored enough if these ones look ok.

Get your phone and take some pictures of your thumbs in various states of upness and downness.

I don't know, some Georgian fellow I assume. It was kind of him to focus it on the tip of my finger though.

Oscar: Up, clearly.

When one rates a post, as I just have, would it be possible to take the person back to where they were in the discussion rather than to the post they just rated?

In your user profile popup, there are scores showing your total score and the up and down votes you've awarded other users.

Also, post rating is now in mobile mode. You will need to clear your cache to get it to work, especially if using Chrome on Android as it caches like a motherfucker.
