Eek! I'm heading down to't Smoke today & my brother - who had offered me a place in his dog basket - has buggered off to a conference in Merka. I *may* be able to stay at his gaff anyway, if I can get in touch with his son (currently proving elusive).

However, if I can't contact him, is there any kind metropolitan sausage who could offer me a sofa for Friday & possibly Saturday night? You wouldn't see a lot of me tonight - I'm going for a meal so wouldn't turn up till late (before midnight though). I'll bring my own sleeping bag & love doll.

Doesn't even have to be that early, no bother at all.

My number's not changed so if you still have that, we can sort something out. Or I guess in these smartphone magical times it could be done by email. Or twitter.

We might be going to a social do in Barbican this evening so we'd have to coordinate meeting up post your dinner and ours.

This is going to sound terrible, but what is the Queens last name? I don't think I've ever ever heard it mentioned. It's always Queen Elizabeth.

She doesn't really have one. Because she is the fucking Queen. And nobles were [Forename] of [Place].

But they made it 'Windsor' sometime in the 20th C.

Windsor, but the 'family name' has changed over the centuries as they're a bunch of in-bred/out-bred whores'n'villians.

Before Windsor, I think it may have been Saxe-Coburg, which was a bit too germanic for the early part of the last century.

Interesting. I know I've never heard her addressed as anything other than Queen Elizabeth and strangely I was wondering about this the other day!

Battenberg, Mountbatten and Mountbatten-Windsor are all in there somewhere too.

These Royals know how to make it complicated.

I feel so much better. Now I feel I can make it through this Friday.

Oh, Friday! Finally and thank God!
