Skyrim

I think it's worth investing in Smithing anyway so you can forge and upgrade the best weapons and armour (stats wise). I've got smithing up to 100 and am wearing a full set of deadric armour and deadric greatsword, all upgraded to legendary level, and i'm a proper fucking badass.

I haven't bothered with enchanting, so my elemental and magic resistances leave something to be desired so i sometimes have a bit trouble against large groups of mages (at least until i get close enough to seing at them), but in a straight up swordfight or man vs beast i'm nigh on unkillable.

It looks like something may have become fucked when my computer was crashing all the time with the dodgy memory. I've done a quick reinstall of 7 on a second HDD and Skyrim is now running smoothly. Huge difference. Looking forward to playing it now :D

In fact where I was getting low fps at low detail in the first populated scenes it's now maxed out at 60 fps at ultra with some advanced settings turned on. Looking good it is. I just assumed the game was shit slow.

I'm liking my house in Solitaire. I would have liked it to be a bit bigger for the price i paid, but it's a great location and has a nice view over the bay from my patio.

EDIT: I've just noticed who lives next door
The Emperor's cousin, who i murdered on her wedding day. I bet she had some nice things and now she's dead they're just going to be sat there gathering dust. I think i might have to steal everything, so someone else can have the pleasure of owning them. Its the only decent thing i can do.

Is it a house of cards?

I have decided there are too many dragons. I can't fucking go anywhere now without having to fight a dragon. Earlier today i even had to fight two at once. It's getting annoying. Don't get me wrong, i like being a hard as nails dragon slayer, but i'd also like to go for a nice quiet ride through the woods every once in a while.

Also, it makes the whole unlocking shouts with dragon souls thing pretty pointless. When i first started learning all these different shouts i was carefully considering which ones i'd use, assuming that i wouldn't be able to unlock them all. But now i've unlocked every single word i've found and still have 8 dragon souls left.

Aye, I agree. They're v2 Cliff Racers.

I'm starting to just ignore them unless they attack me directly. They're tedious to fight, particularly when you're a non-magic non-ranged character.

They still look amazing and that though. Very nicely animated.

They should never be able to fly with wings that small, though. And surely, if I'm pinging arrows into them, there's a fairly good chance I'd hit the flammable stuff they breath and they'd explode.

On the plus side, they really don't like mudcrabs.

Oh, the Thieves Guild missions. I'll try and do this without spoilers, but just in case:

The first half is alright, though I got confused when they make a thing about not killing people, and then send me to a house that's full of armed guards and I have to hack my way through them. The second half, though, is such a disappointment. What feels like endless crappy little generic missions, leading up to slightly bigger scripted missions that aren't exactly difficult. And nowhere does it tell you that you need to start doing those little missions once you've finished the first half of the storyline.

I've only done that first mission too. The 'don't kill anyone' confused me. Do the guards count? But they also said 'don't kill anyone' and then said 'if the elf gives you any trouble, kill him'. Which all left me rather confused. So I did it entirely sneakily without killing any guards, just in case. This was not recognised in any way during the mission debriefing, which was sad.

That's as far as I've got so far. I'm not sure I like the thieves in Skyrim. In previous games there was always something a bit cartoony about them. They were kinda cutely bumbling and pretty harmless. More of a romantic robin hood played for comedy kinda thing. In Skyrim they're more of a mafia-like criminal organisation who are actually quite nasty. I may just stop working for them and get on with destroying the Dark Brotherhood. We'll see

That mission was nice though. Felt very Deus Exy actually.

Cliff Racers OMG almost as irritating as Cliff Richard.

Solitude's in Haafingar, not Natch. I think Natch is in Morrowind (nod)

Also, I got some steel plate armour to replace my dwarven one and now my lovely dwarven helmet and boots look silly. They don't match at all :(

I've not let any dragons start appearing yet.

When I was level 9 or so I decided I was going to join the Imperial Legion, mostly just in the hope there'd be some nice heavy armour as rewards or something. I'm level 18 now and I only just got to Solitude. I got sidetracked :$

Has anyone done the Red Eagle questline?

The last boss (Red Eagle himself) is pretty tough - I had to drink numerous potions and stick on my Berserker Rage to be able to kill him without dying in 2 hits

I do quite like my greatsword that sets people on fire when I hit them. And how there's a 25% chance I'll decapitate someone when I do a power move on them.

No doubt a mod will come out soon for that. I had a dragon yesterday which attacked me for short while, then decided to attack two nearby mammoths - which totally owned it! That was quite cool.

My daggers have a 100% chance of stabbing someone. And when I do so, they have 100% chance of dying :Y
