Skyrim

Looks like there is something wrong with this computer. Again :'( Just tried the benchmark in Dirt 3 which was running soooper smooth before. Average was 34, min 18. Definitely not right.

Hopefully software rather than hardware, unless the dying PSU damaged something.

I'm jealous, I want it, but I've heard
It really buggy at the minute, I've gone on about it that much that I have a sneaky feeling my girlfriends got it me for Xmas, so I don't want to buy it yet just in case, really want though :'(

Yes, of course.

No. Easier lockpicking and more one-handed damage. Sod all that getting-up-close shit. I'll sit halfway across the map and shoot them in safety.

No, they get caught in the cobwebs.

By the way, is there an NPC anywhere that can improve magical weapons? Apparently, I need a perk to let me do that, but I've got other things to spend my points on.

It's no more buggy than every other Bethesda game has been. Unless you're Chrisss and your computer is having a bad turn.

I don't think you can get NPCs to do smithing or enchanting for you. Which is really fucking annoying in a world full of smiths and enchanters.

As Patch says it's no buggier than Ob or MW. It's just the nature of these sorts of games, so many variables. The UI is a fucking (in terms of usability) mess but that doesn't really detract from the game.

Well, that's just shit.

That does indeed look rather cool. Where did you get that?

IT really is. I mean I understand they want to make the skills valuable. I'd be annoyed if I spent x points on something which you could effectively just pay for. But... I don't want to put points in those things. Make in world alternatives expensive or something.

I haven't found a massive amount of bugs. Admittedly, the bugs i've found have tended to be pretty big bugs (a few CTD's, some missing textures, a couple of broken quests making me need to use the dev console to be able to proceed), but there haven't been all that many of them.

Not like Oblivion, for example, which has got to have been the most buggy game i've ever played.

The Thieves Guild quests, though I'm not going to tell you where to find them.

To be slightly fair, it's only two point in the Smithing tree to be able to improve magical stuff. It's still shit, though. I need all the points I can get.

Presumably at some point someone will come up with a mod that gives the NPCs the ability to do it.

Fair enough. I've only just started the Thieves Guild, so i'm sure i'll find it in due course.

Anyway, something regarding the latter stages of the DB
Shadowmere! My dear friend, how wonderful to see you again. When did you suddenly change gender?

I think it's worth investing in Smithing anyway so you can forge and upgrade the best weapons and armour (stats wise). I've got smithing up to 100 and am wearing a full set of deadric armour and deadric greatsword, all upgraded to legendary level, and i'm a proper fucking badass.

I haven't bothered with enchanting, so my elemental and magic resistances leave something to be desired so i sometimes have a bit trouble against large groups of mages (at least until i get close enough to seing at them), but in a straight up swordfight or man vs beast i'm nigh on unkillable.

It looks like something may have become fucked when my computer was crashing all the time with the dodgy memory. I've done a quick reinstall of 7 on a second HDD and Skyrim is now running smoothly. Huge difference. Looking forward to playing it now :D

In fact where I was getting low fps at low detail in the first populated scenes it's now maxed out at 60 fps at ultra with some advanced settings turned on. Looking good it is. I just assumed the game was shit slow.

I'm liking my house in Solitaire. I would have liked it to be a bit bigger for the price i paid, but it's a great location and has a nice view over the bay from my patio.

EDIT: I've just noticed who lives next door
The Emperor's cousin, who i murdered on her wedding day. I bet she had some nice things and now she's dead they're just going to be sat there gathering dust. I think i might have to steal everything, so someone else can have the pleasure of owning them. Its the only decent thing i can do.
