Two hour snatches, John. But that is actually how I consume games and it's fine for Skyrim. Leaves you wanting more every time, mind.

I found a minor glitch when I was jailbreaking a redguard out of Dragonsreach dungeon. A book on the main jailer's desk started vibrating with such energy that I could hear it from several blocks away. I eventually had to go and kick it off the table to stop it.

It reminds me a bit of that GTA4 video where they'd modified the game to have negative friction.

Finally got my computer sorted this week and thought my lovely new computer would be /fucking awesome/ with Skyrim but it runs like shit :( At the start of the game I'm getting 20-30fps with all the people in vew and that's on High with AA/AF turned down. Tomshwardware have a 6850 doing a min of FPS at Ultra settings so something must be wrong.

 

Also the difference in x/y mouse speed was really annoying me. Sorted that though.

Something is amiss then. It's a surprisingly undemanding game.

Something doesn't seem to be right. There are videos of the card running on ultra settings at higher resolutions smoother than mine is. I'm not the only one having problems though. Not sure what to do :(

Sounds like drivers...

Even on low I'm getting slow speeds in open/populated areas. No different to high actually. Things slow down even further on ultra.

 

Display drivers are the latest AMD ones. Hmmm.

Roll back to earlier ones then :Y

I tried it for 5 minutes Thursday and things were slow so I updated the drivers to see if that would help. Had some time to myself this afternoon but instead of playing the game I was trying to find out why it was running so badly :(

Turns out there are giant crabs in Skyrim. You'd be hard pushed to fit a house inside it, though.

I'm fully kitted out in Nightingale armour, which seems to be so good at blending with the shadows that I've managed to get sneak shots in on people standing five foot in front of me and looking straight at me. But I haven't taken a screenshot.

I backstabbed a dragon. Sleeping one. Snuck onto its back and stabbed it and it died :Y
