This thread has gone downhill in terms of quality over the last few posts.

Please amend.

Ok, here is an interesting thing. You know steps in old buildings like castles and shit, where there's a curve worn into the leading edge from all the centuries of feet? That curves represents the probability distribution of where a foot is most likely to step, and ends up, unsurprisingly, as a bell curve.

At some point I'll take a photo of the thing outside my flat where people have been sitting for about 500 years. People's arses are surprisingly wearing.

This is the sort of thing I like learning about. :D

There must some sort of graph that can be drawn.

Would you be interested in knowing that the actual length of any river is about three times longer than the straight line joining the source to the end then? That's Maths too.
From: Peter (BOUGHTONP)18 Nov 2011 14:48

Eh? That must depend on the age of the river. And the softness of the terrain it travels through.

*searches*

Ok, so the average of all rivers approaches pi.

Wouldn't it look like two bells with most people having two feet?

Do you stand on every step with both feet?
From: graphitone18 Nov 2011 15:11

True, but not /accurate/ maths.

The only pickiness I can manage there is... oh, actually there's quite a lot!

Xen, stop uttering rubbish!

Does everyone stand on the same step with the same side foot?
