I now can't start Firefox, i complains about it allready being running but not responding.

There's no Firefox processes in the task manager and I've tried rebooting.

Lucy is such a cunt.

Right -deleted the Mozilla folder again in apdata and I've got back into firefox, with flash working.

However, when I try and restore my bookmakrs and passwords and stuff from my old profile, it stops plugins working again.

You've got more serious problems than simply disabling your add-ons by the sounds of it. Didn't you have problems with Firefox 4.x beta and trying to run that with a different profile?

I suggest you remove all copies of Firefox.

Delete all the pinned icons and shortcuts from your desktop and Start Menu.

Delete the Mozilla folders from Program Files, AppData\Local and AppData\Roaming

Delete the Mozilla keys from the registry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software.

Then reinstall it.

And if that doesn't work, you're fucked (and should probably be checking for some malware of something, because it sounds fucking weird the situation you're stuck in)

Start again, delete the Mozilla folder.

Your saved passwords are stored in the signons.sqlite file and bookmarks in places.sqlite. I would try copying those two files into your profile folder and leave everything else alone.

You can reinstall your add-ons manually.

Huzzah, I have now got it working with flash at least, and now about:addons works too!

I'm pretty sure the issues with 4.whatever it was were on a different laptop, at very least on a different install of windows. This install is pretty fresh, really.

And I seriously doubt malware is at fault, as this has only been online via 3G since I got it so i haven't downloaded anything really, just surfing and using Libre Office.
