Indeed. Yet another reason added to the already long list of reasons why I do not do business with Sony. They're a joke!

Great point. They are terrible!

Is it a coincidence that Microsft have started plugging Kinect on the TV again?

It's really hard to tell with Microsoft. They don't seem to take advantage of their opportunities when they should at times.

I was really pulling for Sony too, because I like the idea of their gaming network being free. I hate paying for Live.

Then why do we do it? If we all refused to pay they wouldn't charge! :-{)

This just keeps getting better and better!

Are they capable of running a secure network?

If you own a Sony Walkman, it's probably best to take the batteries out of it just in case.

You gotta wonder how tightly woven Sony's networks are and whether the Sony Reader eBookStore, SonyStyle and other sites are immune.

ha, no doubt! It's going to take a lot for them to recover from this.

I have a really great free gaming network.

It's called A PC WITH INTERNET ACCESS. :@

I remember the good old days when we didn't need centralised authentication servers. (and when I had a super-fast uni connection)

You find a handful of favourite servers, store their details, and then it doesn't matter if the server providing the list goes down.

*insert big long angry rant*

Yup I remember those days as well. I used to play Quake 3 and Urban Terror a bunch!

It wouldn't let me log in with my password to change it to a new one :S Just had to go through account recovery, which was surprisingly straightforward. If anyone gets access to my email account they'd be able to get all my last pass passwords in about 30 seconds :|

I posted the link above before I'd read the details, but at least it seems they're being hyper sensitive and informing people as soon as possible about a possible breach, rather than waiting a week like Sony :@

That's what I thought and I appreciate the way they are dealing with it. I love the service so I'll continue to use it unless something on the Sony scale would happen!
