Here's a list of Android software that may or not be any good...

  • Androidify
  • AndroZIP - Started as just a zip app, but now a decent file manager too.

  • AppAware - shows you what apps other people are installing, a great way to find new apps that you wouldn't otherwise know about
  • Astrid Tasks - It's for tasks and that
  • Astro File Manager
  • Backgrounds - Quite a poor app, but changes your background once an hour to something nice
  • Barcode Reader
  • Barcode Scanner

  • ConnectBot - SSH/Telnet client, lets me manage servers from my phone!
  • ConvertDroid - Converts between lots of units.
  • ConvertPad

  • Fix My Street - Report problems to your council
  • Food Spotter - It's a nice thing for taking pictures of burgers and that and raiting how good the burger was.
  • Google Listen - For Podcasts, search for terms and find podcasts on the subject. I use it for subscriptions too, needs work but a nice UI and works for me.

  • LauncherPro Plus

Just to be clear, I didn't write the descriptions - the list is collated from 4 or 5 different threads, then duplicates removed.

Instead? Really? :S Not "as well, but just a little bit"?

'Cus even if it were possible (pretty sure it'd need a very precise portable wormhole), the force of an entire earthquake transferred to a slab of plastic in your pocket isn't likely to be pleasant... %-)

Instead of /sounding an alert/, Peter. Really, must I explain /everything/ in such detail?

Only if next time doesn't make me think the IT crowd might have got amusing, only to waste five minutes of my life discovering it was just a lucky out-of-context clip. :@

What do you find funny? The IT Crowd is one of the few things I have seen almost unanimous agreement on being very good.

You.

Not really. :)

Um, sometimes funny are Mock the Week, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, QI, the thing with MilkoDavid Mitchell and Lee Mack (and if only they would drop that stupid host). They all can be funny, but all have potential to be a bit "did I just waste 30/45 minutes on that" too. :S

They're all panel shows though... can't think of any sitcoms I watch these days.

The IT crowd is just too predictable and over-the-top for me.
