going by their figures, my Discovery is a 'standard' car, not 'high consumption' so yay :D

Hmm, wonder if their figures for that part might be based on US cars?

I haven't a clue if my car counts as compact or standard. :(

And I just went to fix the title and sent the thread to the Podcast folder.

I put my car as a standard because it's only a 1.4, but it's quite old and I like to rag it.

I wasn't horrified at all by the fuel costs; I put in my journey today to the out-of-town-shopping-thing and it only cost £1.11; the bus would be double that.

My car runs on chickens.

I am not represented by this calculation etc. etc.

(Apologies if this is an ex-meme)

(Actually, should I have said "ect. ect."?)

(This too much pressure tbh)

(Aaaarghhhh!)

It's also useless when it comes to fuel type as well. Just by toggling between Petrol and Diesel (leaving the car type and price along), the cost goes up when selecting Diesel, which is bollocks!

From experience, my 1.9l Diesel VW Bora is noticeably more economical than the GF's 1.4l Petrol Skoda Fabia, despite being more powerful. The fact is that if leaving the price and car type alone, selecting "Diesel" should lower the cost, not increase it.

I'm sure they know what they're doing, but YMMV :'D

I think they may be doing a simple mileage x cost (so why mention fuel at all?)
cos I agree with you, my diesel costs more per litre than petrol but the car goes further

oh, and be aware, for international trips, the cost is shown in the currency the trip starts in - which may not be a problem unless your trip starts in an obscure country where you don't know the exchange rate (roumania)

I was trying to see if it would be clever enough to add the price of ferry crossings.etc (that would be an awesome feature). However, it didn't even tell me to board the Swanage ferry - just to drive into the sea :C
