I did see a thing where a guy had a Kinect hooked up to AutoCAD(?) and made 3D pictures that he then had a plugin he wrote turn into Minecraft Maps. Cool in a 'wow, that's cool that that's even possible' kinda way, but also kinda ruins the point of Minecraft.

I thought we were gong to flood the bottom with lava (protected by glass) - so is the odd random bedrock an issue?

Guys, can't we make a multi-level swimming pool? Like, separate it in two planes horizontally and have a glass-enclosed glowstone-lit "lounge" area in the middle, accessible via a glass-enclosed staircase on one or all sides? It'd be far more fun than just a swimming pool :(

 

The glass-enclosed bit could even be only accessible from inside the pool, mysteriously floating in the middle of it. Let me hear you say "ooooh!"

This is an interesting idea! It'd mean all that space wouldn't go to waste, for one thing. There could be all sorts of interesting structures down there!
