What's a Collada format?

Just a thought: is it worth worrying about the random bedrock blocks? Unless Notch decides that scuba gear would be a good addition, no-one will be able to swim far enough down to see it without drowning.

Oh... bugger. Yes and no.

I did realise that problem and worked out another alternative but by the time I'd posted I'd forgotten again.

What you can probably actually do is stripes:

(clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock)
(football) :) (football) :) (football) :) (football) :) (football) :) (football)
(clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock)
(football) :) (football) :) (football) :) (football) :) (football) :) (football)
(clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock) :) (clock)

So yellow faces are solid, clocks are where water placed, footballs can be skipped

I'd have to test that, but I think it'd work as producing still water.

Also, if the solid blocks are wool, could we set fire to them and then have them automatically clear a whole row, or would the water put it out too quickly?

It's a common cross-software 3D file format.

Wanted to know if it's possible to export a Minecraft world and fiddle with it in a 3d modeller.

I’m also half-way through finishing my Advanced Diver course. Expect more underwater content in Minecraft.

Oh.

No.

I did see a thing where a guy had a Kinect hooked up to AutoCAD(?) and made 3D pictures that he then had a plugin he wrote turn into Minecraft Maps. Cool in a 'wow, that's cool that that's even possible' kinda way, but also kinda ruins the point of Minecraft.

I thought we were gong to flood the bottom with lava (protected by glass) - so is the odd random bedrock an issue?

Don't want chilly feet.

In other news the progress continues:

That would probably work, but I doubt the water would end up as smooth. I think.

Guys, can't we make a multi-level swimming pool? Like, separate it in two planes horizontally and have a glass-enclosed glowstone-lit "lounge" area in the middle, accessible via a glass-enclosed staircase on one or all sides? It'd be far more fun than just a swimming pool :(

The glass-enclosed bit could even be only accessible from inside the pool, mysteriously floating in the middle of it. Let me hear you say "ooooh!"

This is an interesting idea! It'd mean all that space wouldn't go to waste, for one thing. There could be all sorts of interesting structures down there!

I think someone (drew) should make a submarine
