Because sometimes I have to poop?

Server was playing up earlier and being very laggy/inconsistent, and now it seems down altogether.

Dynamic map is online though, so it might just be Minecraft itself needs a kick.

(just letting you know - no plans to use it again tonight, so no worries if you're busy with other things)

I had rebooted my router due to a few other things not working right so you could've just tried right when it was offline.

But I've just rebooted the Minecraft computer, it was probably due a reboot.

I don't remember for sure, but I think I got the offline thing twice, about ten minutes apart.

Anyway, just gave it a quick try now and it appears to be working fine, but I have stuff to do so can't play. :(

Random thought: In the inventory/chests, it should be possible to hold down a number from 1-9 when clicking to pick up something and just take that many things.

Someone go make Mojang implement that.

Seems like Mojang are starting to get their shit together...
we’ve moved to using git instead of svn, started using a task and story tracker, and configured a build project using Maven and Gradle.

That's all stuff they should have been doing from at least as soon as "Mojang" existed, if not before.

Oh, and they've pre-released 1.2.5, which is almost entirely fixes, and also pre-announced the actual release date (Wednesday 4th April).

Also, looks like the Bukkit "recommended build" for 1.2.4 was released Wednesday just gone, so that's a total six day turnaround.

Just wondering, there's a bunch of dirt in the boxes near the spawn (presumably dug out for the rocket), does anyone need it, or could I take it for a dirt-heavy project I'm working on?

I didn't dig it, but I see no problem with grabbing as much dirt as you need. I think the digger (Chris?) abandoned his hole...

Take as much as you want.

Also, do I need to do some updates?

I think so, it wouldn't let me login last time I tried

I haven't abandoned my hole. I just haven't played for a while. A fair while actually. I haven't even played Skyrim for a while and I hadn't played Minecraft for a while when I was playing that.

Take what you want from the boxes. One day I may finish off my shuttle, when my daughter has moved out and I've retired and I have some time to myself

I tried to log in a few days ago and couldn't get in. It kept saying the server was gone.

Just tried to log in with 1.2.5 and was told "outdated server".

Downgraded to 1.2.3 and got on ok.

I just built a nether portal in the new world, but it doesn't teleport me anywhere - just sits there with the swirling purpleness until I step out of it.

Guessing this is due to the multiverse plugin, so I looked at that site and it seems it might be because there's a netherportals sub-mod to install, and/or because a nether needs to be manually created (see "Behaviour" section).

Can you check it out when you get a chance?

I shall do. I've had a read and it seems simple enough.

One question. Would you like portals in the new world to go to a new nether or the original peaceful one?

Definitely a new nether. Thanks. :)
