Teh Mine

It's sort of finished now - as it's at the top of the tower, I don't have that much room.
Give it a try, just have some water handy!
I can't remember if I left the lights on or not though, so you'll have to hunt around for the switches if you can't find your way to the top...

I had a play in your tower. It's absolutely wicked :D

I seemed to survive every button-press and lever-pull though so I guess it still needs to be made into a game. But yeah, it's cool. Feels very adventurey going up through it.

Also, anyone know of a decent guide to making Rail junctions?

So I don't need to ask Kev every time!

Yeah. Drew noticing it made me feel guilty enough to finish it. Next, one twelve times the size, just above Citadel.

Hey, have you heard of this thing called Google?

It's not as good as AltaVista, but it's faster and searches more pages, and alot of people really like it. I think it might turn out to be really big.

It's an old link that I like bring up every time I can. Because I like it.

For most people, even really funny things become tedious and boring when repeated at the slightest opportunity. :P

Thanks - the floors are just experiments with light - there's no danger, other than getting lost when it gets absolutely pitch black.
The only danger is getting caught by the lava at the top, but I'm not cruel enough to make it a genuine death-trap (which would be easy to do, extend the timer by a short amount, and make the wooden door an iron one).
If you want though, pretend the door is an iron one, press the button, and don't move - you'll get the same effect!

Haha, the lava did almost get me in that top room. Gave me a fright anyway :D

Loved the glowstone room. Whole thing has a really nice feel to it. Cleverly made.

1.8 Beta preview with commentary by Notch! I'm digging the creative mode and the ability to have it turned on per-user in multiplayer :D

Creative mode looks a lot like the free web-based version that I played and thought "What's all the fuss about?". I think that removes most of the fun of building stuff, it's pretty much one step away from a level editor.

The terrain looks really good though, rivers and ravines and stuff. I hope there's a way of making new areas on current servers generate like that. I quite like the idea of NPC villages and strongholds in solo/group survival but wouldn't really want them on a creative server like Teh.

My thoughts with creative mode was that people that want to just build things without the chore of collecting / building items, i.e. me, could be put into creative mode and everyone else can grind for what they need.

And from what I understand, we would have to generate a new map to use all the new geological goodies and such like :(

My hope, and I think some other people's hope too, is that Ant will find a map editor and trim off the explored-but-unused areas of the map when the next update hits, so that we don't have huge treks to see the new stuff.
