Hmm, odd. Working for me, but that doesn't seem like too much of a surprise (even though I am connecting via mine.teh rather than the local IP).

The whole thing is all at sea level. Will try and get on there tomorrow and keep plopping down buckets of water until it stops...might take a while seeing how much I had to cut out to get it all to connect.

Do it right and it fixes itself.

I'd try and explain but I can't think now. :(

Do it diagonally.

I still have no connection, but I can't see why, I tried to find a missing link ~

there is someone on now - 'jeesus' - I can connect to the live map, and the mini -site, both of which I think are on the same server, but not the game :((

That's not my IP. Have you tried connecting using mine.tehforum.co.uk?

Someone has really gone to town with my email address and password.

Changed all my no-ip IP addresses. CUNTS.

Or maybe not. I'm confused.

All of these...

wakeupbomb.no-ip.org
wakeupbomb.no-ip.info
athomas.no-ip.org
anthonythomas.no-ip.org

Should all point to the same place (according to my no-ip setup page) but they don't.

Does anyone have any tips for speeding up a server?

I bought a dedicated web server to have a little play with minecraft on - it's not huge, 2gb ram..etc..

having a few speed issues though, even when just two people are connected.

And now they do.

Is it a server that people/forums have recommended for hosting a Minecraft Server?

I'm guessing there's a lot more than RAM that is the issue, CPU speed/available CPU speed is important.

\o/ yay \o/

mine.tehforum.co.uk - works fine :D

Yeah, you should always use that really.

That is constantly set to my IP whereas I have to update the no-ip address every month or so so it doesn't expire, I may have forgotten :$

no worries, just glad it's back

did spend a while deleting crap that seems to have made a home in my PC - which is probably a good thing :)

Nay not a recommended one...

Hmmmm.

From: ANT_THOMAS22 Aug 2011 11:31

CPU might not be upto the job then. I'm guessing web serving is far less intensive than Minecraft serving.
From: Mikee22 Aug 2011 11:40
To: ANT_THOMAS 3083 of 3934

Aye seems to be the case. It's only got a tiny CPU

(first one)

The upgrade after that seems pretty nice, though. Might transfer my linodes across to one of those.

Teh Mine's server spec is listed in Post 1 (msg:38140.1) if you want to get an idea of the speed required for the performance we get. The CPU is never maxed, the only thing I could do with doing is upgrading the RAM.
