looking at the map, there seems to be a nice, unused space slightly to the east. It's near enough to everyone else for transport but not so close you can't expand - map attached

No, no - build north. There's loads of space between me and the rest of the big builds, and I can connect my skyway to wherever you start building, easily enough.

With the Citadel and the Cololoseum and now your big circle it's like ellipse-land over there.

have you seen that weird cross thing just south of the lava pit?

is teh server offline for everyone?

Its tempremental but I'm on. Just started mining out some stuff for my build. It'll be south west of radios pad.

If you need stuff, just holler and leave a chest visible somewhere. Diamonds for a decent pickaxe for example?

Good for now but I may need some diamonds etc. when I move onto a bigger build.

Anyone good with creating rivers/canals? Trying to link the bay/cove I've built my house on onto the main ocean but putting down water from buckets just causes a 'rapids' effect which destroys any boats that travel down it.

Nah, it's not the rapids. All boats in Minecraft are fitted with a timed explosive device which will self-destruct at a point in time when it can achieve the most annoyance.


To solve the rapids though, you just need to keep placing water with a bucket on the different moving squares until they go still.
Oh, and they all have to be the same height - needs a level surface; you can't have still multi-height water which is connected.

been saying 'connection timed out:connect' for me for ages now
others were able to get on intermittantly

Hmm, odd. Working for me, but that doesn't seem like too much of a surprise (even though I am connecting via mine.teh rather than the local IP).
