:S:S:S I've just worked out I need a volume of approximately 160,000 blocks cleared. I've done about 19,000 of that. Luckily it's nowhere Xen so he can't shout at me for building too close to him.

It's not Xen you should be worrying about...

I plan to build something big. 120 blocks high, double real life scale. I'm thinking now though that maybe I should do it 1:1 so there's hardly any digging. Or one of each maybe.

Provide some tools and I'll do some. Can't promise that I'll do the whole lot, though.

Demon with a pickaxe. He's definitely done more of the major excavation tasks than anyone else.

Oohh, yay, thank you :D There are some chests right next to the hole which might have some iron tools in, and possibly some iron ore. Haven't got any diamonds though.

 

I have drawn a square around the area that needs clearing but I think it needs moving up (on the dynamic map) 5 or 6 blocks.

 

I'm also gonna have fun finding the materials to build what I want. I think a large part of it can be made from dirt (orange wool would be better though) but need to find lots of white and black. I started to build one part from dirt, gravel and sand to see what it looks like and its huuuuuge.

Where is it? I can't see it on the map, though I'm not sure what I'm actually looking for.

Its right by the spawn point. There's a large (small compared to the size needed) hole north west (I think) from there.

Can you tell us what you're building, or is it a big secret?

The colours and what's in the hole at the moment might give it away.

Is it that huge brown square directly north of the 'put the kettle on' bit?

It's north of that on the sand. It shows up as a black hole with a dirt square around it and a round thing in it.
