if you put a ladder against a block it creates a pocket of air, you can stay down and just breathe when you need to
Don't think you can place ladders against glass can you?
Although I'm definitely going to have to use that later - got a big sheet of ice in my way, so can't just pop up to the surface there.
no, no ladders against glass, but stick a block of soil there to put the ladder on, you can remove it when you're done
Just updated the server. Latest bukkit build and the latest builds of a few plugins. Doubt it'll make much difference but it's nice to be fresh and updated.
I started work on Teh Tube last night.
It's very exciting.
I noticed on Teh map some of the squares are shaded, what does that mean?
Also, how are there some squares that are revealed in the middle of a load of black squares, which I'm assuming are unexplored squares?
The map only shows squares that I think have either been built on or definitely ones that have had a torch placed. The torch can be placed and removed.
Unfortunately it isn't a map of all the explored area, which would be nice. I wonder if that's a setting..hmm...
I was looking at the dynamic map the other day - how many blocks does each one of the squares represent - I'm assuming it's not 1-1...
Uh, depends how zoomed in you are?
Oscar: higher squares are shaded in a lighter colour, if that's what you mean?
If you zoom in, you can see individual blocks in what looks like pixels.
The resolution stays the same for me when I zoom in - the blocks just get bigger, but don't resolve to anything smaller making it look hugely pixellated. :(
By squares, I mean the square map areas, not individual blocks. I don't know if the map shows exactly the same for everyone but if it does; there are 4 black squares to the right of where I am right now, followed by a regular 'lit' square, followed by two 'shaded' squares.
Both of you post screenshots!!!
The 'shaded' areas seem to be happening since Ant updated the plugins so there seems to have just been a change in how the map renders. So eventually the whole map should be more like that I think.
Not seen that before. :/
Dunno what it might be.
Yeah that seems to be a "new" thing.
I have always assumed that the blocks on the map represent the chunks in the world, which could be 16x16

everyone else: I came to find out about the grey shaded bits and you have no clue :(
maybe they are bits that have been explored but not visited recently?
This is the map at full zoom for me, flying over what I think is Xen's masterpiece. So, does each square represent 1 block in the game world?
