Bah. Everyone should be forced to read both Minecraft threads from start to finish before playing. :P

Looks a bit pixelly - you should check the screen settings.

That was just from the camera, it's actually very clear.

I did, and I'm not even playing yet. :(

Also, I think there are three threads, almost certainly longer than Cracked My Ball between them.

I count five actually. :P

The "Minecraft" + "Teh Mine" ones are the two "big" ones though - and yes, together they do beat your dad's cracked ball, without needing any help from the others.

But then, this one alone is looking pretty likely to grow longer than it - guaranteed to be a fair bit of discussion spawned when beta 1.8 comes out.

I did some things! I dug a couple of mines, but both times I ended up hitting lava and it looked things were about to kick off so I got out of there. I went down a mine that was already there and found Obsidian but it was over lava and so burnt as soon as I mined it. I suspect I was being trolled. :-@

I built a house out of cobblestone, which looks like a giant grey brick right now but I promise I will make it prettier and/or move it.

I get very lost underground.

Obsidian is formed from lava, and I think can only ever be 1 deep (naturally) - so if the original lava was more than 1 deep (it often is, except perhaps at edges) then there will be lava under obsidian.

So in summary you'll need to replace the lava below it with something else before mining it - place a solid block and it removes the lava in that square.

Use torches and/or signs to mark your way underground, and help keep track of where you are.

Though some of the cave systems are so large and sprawling you'll still get lost, but that's half the fun sometimes. :P

I found a room underground with a load of mossy stone, which I thought was rare, but there were also two chests containing a few little stacks of random stuff and a pig spinning in a cage (really). Is this normal?
