I see. And I thought this was a simple building game. :|

Why does it have to flow, and why are you building an 800 block long canal? :S

Hah, if you're doing what I think you're doing, I've been thinking about that too. And come up with nothing useful.

On a totally unrelated note:

Aww, auto-parsing not in yet?

No and I really want it to be. I posted a video early and had to fuck with the code.

haha, that's too funny. It reminds me of something but I can't put my finger on it.

And how is he flying and hovering around above what he's building? That could be very useful.

I wanted an easy way to send all my debris off to Xeno, we tried loading it into minecarts but they don't seem to run well with no-one in them, I figured a free flowing canal would just carry blocks along

that is amazing, but wouldn't help me :(

Well, the video Xen linked to might do the trick – you could stick any number of minecarts on a gigantic monorail engine and just let it shuffle off to its destination. Mind you, I dunno how much work it'd be to create such a beast...

edit: actually, from the looks of things it seems like the only hard part would be building the engine itself, as the track seems to be just a row (with no corners) of redstone torches and (in an optimised version) some repeaters/delays.

Oh man that could be an alternative to my elevator idea :D It'd be about as fast as the elevators in Mass Effect, too :C

Have you seen how much wiring is needed? :((

I edited my post :$

And yeah, it looks like a lot but from the comments (and my head) I get the impression it could be done with much less.

But... it's a row of redstone torches the length of the entire track which need to sequentially go off and then back on. Which is a lot of wiring however you do it (especially over a distance of 800 squares :(( )

But yeah, feasible for a lift if it can be made to go upwards.

haha :D

And yeah, I know it'll be a lot of wiring but man, it'd be so cool to have a working "train". The noise is fabulous :$

That didn't strike me as terrible! But it's like having a strobe light in the elevator with you!

Man I've been messing with pistons all weekend, what a pain in the ass! The wiring and stuff needed requires you to really think about space before using them!
