Sounds like you jumped into an unloaded chunk. My canal is flat and level. Any perfectly edged holes straight down to bedrock are a server bug. Logging out then back in normally persuades the server to load that chunk.

Quick question: how good is sand at holding back water from the side?

really? twice now I've seen a perfectly square hole with water at the bottom (at least that's what it looked like) about half-way along the canal

had another elsewhere too - been wondering how the sides got so smooth

I think sand is as solid as any other block, easier to dig and falls if there's nothing below it, but stops water fine

I posted a link to Kos in the other thread a week or two ago, regarding missing chunks - the linked page has screenshots which I'd guess are the same as you're seeing (a 16x16 square straight down).

Can't remember if they (look like they) have water at the bottom, but I suspect it's either bedrock or just a void.

that's it, have to stop trying to jump in them then :D

And we're back up!

Had to remove the bloody motherboard due to the utterly FAIL design of the new heatsink (the old one was struggling to keep the new CPU cool when I clocked it :$), the fan is position on the side, directly over the leg pegs that you need to get your screwdriver into to bloody turn. Wankers.

Although it does seem to be a decent cooler - overclocked to 2.7Ghz at the moment, and it's running at about 34 degrees C.

Hurrah!

Um.

For why is the chess board and surrounding area /covered/ in pigs?

Edit: Unkillable pigs :\

Is there a bacon block in this game?

And if not, why not?!

You can cook pork ad eat it, so i guess that counts as bacon.

I don' tknow, but I blame Xen.

No bacon, but you can get pork chops, which can be eaten raw or cooked first then eaten.

(They're items not blocks though, so can't be used for building.)
